More funky blues and R & B from Steve & Val. Includes studio cuts with full band plus horn section, tracks with just Steve & Val and two songs "live" in concert.

This Steve Somers Band with Valerie Barrymore is from the Detroit, Michigan area where they perform on a regular basis at night clubs, parties and festivals.

They were nominated for awards in 1999 and 2000 at the Motor City Music Awards. In 2000 Steve received an award for Guitar Player of the Year in the Wayne County Music Awards(Detroit).

In the studio we are often trying to get a "live feel" in our recordings. On the other hand, with live recordings we try to obtain studio quality and maximum separation of sound sources. On this album we have included eight studio cuts and two live cuts. Thereby obtaining both a "live" and a studio sound on the same album. Let it Roll, Elevator Boogie and Crazy were essentially recorded "live" in the studio.

All of these songs are currently being performed in the band's "live" show. Most of the songs were originally written by other artists. However, the songs have been completely re-arranged and done in their own unique Steve Somers Band way. It is our hope that you will find the music on this CD refreshing and original in concept.
