Sonal Anu, pronounced 'Soan-all Ah-new', was founded upon the friendship, common world-view, and wildly bent sense of humor of bassist Brent-Anthony Johnson (BAJ) and multi-instrumentalist Chris Ball. Sleep Drum is an eclectic mix of straight ahead jazz, funk, pop, world beat and even folk music influences. The CD is a unique and fun departure from the smooth jazz and other music Chris is known for.

Have to keep it about the CD, not your so very interesting, and special, personality. I've heard you play in person, but on this CD, you rocked! I can totally hear your picky recording ideals and years of skill, but mostly, your amazing love for the music you do. What a great album!
