Sonare Players, flutists Teresa and Janice Lemaire, and guitarists Nicolai Tanev and Johnna Jeong with percussionist Rick Shoemaker perform and record together as well as separately in diverse styles from classical to rock, blues, and popular genres. Rick also performs with his own band, while Janice and Johnna play and teach in the Atlanta area. Nicolai, recently relocated from Bulgaria to the U.S., has produced several CD\'s, and won the 2007 Runner-up award of the third annual IAMA (international Acoustic Music Awards) for his composition \"Sofia Blues.\"
Johnna holds a masters degree in classical guitar performance while Teresa recently graduated from Northwestern University with a masters in flute performance. Teresa performs in jazz clubs, chamber recitals, and has played with orchestras in the Atlanta and Chicago areas. Sonare\'s latest CD features flute, guitar, and percussion in the Latin inspired guaracha, bolero, tango and samba rhythms and harmonies. Tunes range from lush and mellow seductive Spanish melodies of Heitor Villa Lobos to the energetic and bold Samba beat of Christopher Caliendo.
