Album Notes

How is it that a band can simultaneously relax and excite it's listener with hidden dimensions that lift you to new environments? The answer may be found in Sonic Flow's accessibility. Four exotic instruments combine to deliver fresh sounds with a tinge of familiarity. Chris Van Horne utilizes the American parlor guitar not just for melodic expressions but bouncy rhythms as well. His finger style complexity is matched by Tony Ustel's dexterous command of India's tabla. The origins of Roger Fournier's wash tub bass can be traced to Africa, where his deep rooted reverberation provides the foundation upon which the music gels. The juxtaposition of Sonic Flow's complexity vs.simplicity is rounded out by the ancient drone of Australia's didgeridoo. More than just sounding notes, Benji Flackman modernizes one of the world's oldest instruments providing a chant-like voice to an otherwise instrumental debut album.
