Sonic Porno is a two-piece grunge act from Brisbane, Australia. The boys from The Porno have been playing in bands around Bris Vegas and the Gold Coast for years now, and with an imminent LP and a set-list of over 35 tracks to choose from, their fan-base is growing wider. Tone is a graphic designer, gig promoter and does a little writing for UK trash 'zine, Bubblegum Slut, and Joel is a Sunshine Coast local easily finding his way to hell on drums. A blend of Punk, Indie and Grunge, prepare to be blown away; for a 2 piece band these kids fill a room with some serious depth and distraction. Our resident go-go dancers and Burlesque superstars led by Miss Lady Vee, make sure the audience members are taken care of with a mix of burlesque and sheer sexuality, running amok onstage whilst the boys provide the soundtrack.
You never know what you're gonna get at a Sonic Porno show; burlesque dancers, live dominatrix's, alternative artists and impromptu Public Enemy cover versions are quite the norm, and the drum kit occasionally ends up thrown across the stage to a chorus of annoying feedback whilst anything in the way gets broken and the crowd stand wide-eyed in disbelief.
The debut EP and follow-up mini album were spun live at Alchemix Studios in Wooloongabba, Brisbane; raw and emotional, non-pretentious and extremely addictive....You can also catch Porno tracks on the occasional compilation and secret internet release... So turn up the volume and trash your bedroom you little punk mongrels. RIP Kurt, grunge is not dead.

REVIEWS
TIME OFF EP Review:
Grunge Is Not Dead (Alien Punk Records)
The long-awaited debut EP from Sonic Porno is a vehement, foaming-at-the-mouth rejection of glitzy pomposity and a passionate embrace of the raw, archetypal spirit of rock and roll. The Brissy duo recorded these four tracks completely live, retaining nothing more than smashing percussion, hollering Robert Smith-style vocals, and riffs that pummel like a freight train to the face. Despite its title - and one particularly Nirvana-sounding riff (‘Waiting Around’) - GIND draws the energy of Black Flag and the lo-fi approach of The Black Keys. This is how rock and roll should be! Time Off local Review:
“With the release of their debut EP, late last year, Sonic Porno convincingly staked their claim as one of Brisbane’s finest purveyors of raw Garage rock n’ roll. An intoxicating, balls-to-the-wall blend of all that is virtuous and primal in rock music, Sonic Porno undoubtingly have a successful career ahead of them.”
Rave Magazine Live Review:
The confines of the Zoo...acted as a perfect backdrop for two-piece Sonic Porno’s brand of brash, primal rock. Pausing regularly to banter with the embryonic crowd, the pair rock out with a White Stripes flavour to the driving beat of Fugitive and Way High, while their suspender-clad burlesque dancer shimmies suggestively around the stage.
Lords of Wong
“Merciless. Without mercy. Skilled and chilled. They dragged me into the light and got me drunk and slipped me a mickey. And when I woke up I begged for more. I would advise anyone to get into the nearest venue and see these guys do their thing live. It's amazing.”
Rave Magazine:
”Infamous Brisbane grunge two piece, Sonic Porno blew the audience away with a booming voice, nasty drums and dirty guitar action.”
Time Off Local:
“Brisbane two piece raw-rockers Sonic Porno have an arousing sound that would tempt even the most righteous of men. The Porno are making waves.”
Time Off Local News:
“With not one, but several burlesque dancers now incorporated into their live show, and a new double-kick drummer that would make Dave Grohl nod in approval, these are exciting times for garage grunge duo Sonic Porno. .”
Justin Grey, Timeoff live reviewer:
"Look at the successful garage duos (White Stripes, Black Keys, and our very own Sonic Porno), and they all sound larger than their duo status suggests. "
Timeoff Local News:
"Catch the duo before they go global....you have one successful little band on your hands "
The Fumes
"Your sound is fuckin RAD"
Fasterlouder Live Review:
"White Stripes meets the Sex Pistols with a dash of hilarity added into the mix."
Stu Harvey, JJJ Unearthed:
“It’s The Cult meets Nirvana. Serious Potential there.”
Random Punter at Reason Fest:
“Vocals like 'Bleach' and guitars like 'Goo'.”
Psychoflop, Myspace band critic:
“Grunge never died guys, it just got tuned lower...With that being said, Queensland seems to be the new seattle.”
