Sonnet L. Ford is a native of Los Angeles, California where she grew up singing under the leadership of her father the late Reverend Dr. E.L. Ford. She sang her first solo at the age of 5 and wowed the crowd with a rendition of “Down by the Riverside”. She’s been singing ever since. Her big voice with such a small stature has always left audiences amazed and wanting more.
For several years she was a featured soloist with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, under the direction of Matt Oppenheimer. The group performed at places such as, The Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California, Disneyland in Anaheim, California and at several televised events.
Sonnet has shared the stage with artists such as, the late Billy Preston, Natalie Cole, Jon Bon Jovi, the late Gerald Levert, gospel recording artists Generation J, gospel recording artists G.R.I.T.S and many more. In 1998, she opened up for the Colorado Mass Choir and received a standing ovation for her mesmerizing acappella vocals. She has been a guest artist on “Atlanta Live” (Channel 57) and was co-host of the television program “Ordinary People” on Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters (AIB). She has traveled the country singing at concerts, conferences and other major venues.
In December of 2000, God moved in this yielded vessels life to take her ministry to another level. She responded and founded Living By Faith Outreach Ministries, Inc. a non-denominational, multi-cultural, full gospel ministry located in Riverdale, Georgia that is committed to teaching people how to live victoriously through the knowledge and application of God’s word. He has given her a special anointing to sing, write and produce, as well as, to preach and teach. Her article “Is There a Song in Your Heart” in the May 2007 issue of 7000 More Magazine (a ministry of The Day Star Tabernacle International Church in Douglasville, Ga., under the direction of Apostle Halton “Skip” Horton) is capturing the attention of aspiring artist all over the country. Also, her new CD entitled “The Next Level”, has led many to give their lives to Christ. “Pastor Sonnet” as she is affectionately called by her members, continues to share her awesome gifts of singing, preaching and teaching with a fast growing congregation.
