Sonny Corso lives in his homestate of Louisiana, near New Orleans, with his wife and seven children. He has played locally since the early 80's, in venues as varied as famous clubs such as Snug Harbor and Jimmy's, to tough corner barrooms, and even the annual blessing of the shrimp fleet in Jean Lafitte, Louisiana. His 1984 hit record of "World Famous Restaurants" is played perrenially in Carnival season and is regarded as a classic of the New Orleans R&B genre. No less an authority than the late Ernie K-doe praised this particular recording for its authenticity and featured Sonny and some of his Pelicans on his radio show in 1984. Famed DJ Ready Teddy referred to "the legendary Sonny Corso, a cult hero." The cult is growing.
