Riding the tide of the “New Age Soul Revolution” there are many new age soul artists, but Son of Pearl has traveled deep into the social and emotional heart land of the listener. With
Last year’s offering of “Neo Soulism” being a critical step in the road to his own musical re-birth, he found that there comes a time when you must just sit and listen to your life’s song and you let the vibe flow through. Therefore the seed was planted for COSMIC SOUL SERENADE his first full length instrumental offering.

The cd begins with the intro NU SOUL (Intro For Scoop) named for his uncle who taught him the first two songs that he ever learned to play. And then the seduction begins with the salacious ear candy of “PROFUNKSTAKATION”. The cd then takes a turn to the heart of man, with a taste of dark music from a bass player entitled BRIGHTER DAYZ. The anthem of the cd will surely be “THEY CAN’T HOLD ME BACK” laced with sweet saxophone and rhythm guitar the up tempo beat and smooth jazz voicing of his 8 string Dean Rhapsody bass makes this tune a sure top 40 jazz station main stay. In the wake of Katrina and hurricane Rita Son of Pearl like many musicians felt the pain and loss of the people of the region. He shares his prayers and thoughts with the city by penning the soothing A SONG FOR NEW ORLEANS, which he wrote while seeing the devastation first hand. The most unusual concept about the cd is the harmonic voicing of the phrasing from Son Of Pearl, as a bass player he stretches the boundaries of texture. As a child he loved to hear the music of his mother being played in stereo (back in the day) and most of the time that music was Wes Montgomery or George Benson but being a bass player he thought how could he get that same vibe and still give homage to his heroes and not leave the bass behind.
On the song TRIBUTE TO WES he gives flavor to a simple but catchy groove to move about the room as the breeze lays sweet in between the notes of mellowness.

Son of Pearl has been joined by a team of truly talented people. With Bonnie Atwater as Executive Producer and The lady behind the cd artwork and design Allison Goldberry, the production team for Suavity Records will be a force to reckon with as the 21st first century and the future of “NEW AGE SOUL AND JAZZISM WILL REVOLES.
