Son OF Pearl… Bassist, Songwriter …Poet returns with “The Mellowist”. A true offering of Neo-Jazz. On “LOVING YOU (AFTER THE STORM) the Mellowist, opens the cd with a bass heavy 808 drum drop melody to moments of salacious memories laced with 8 string-ability. Pearl keeps the vibe moving with such songs as “Blue Ezzence” and a tribute song to his Aunt entitled “BLUE SHOES RED COAT” In the 3 years that it took to compose and arrange and perform the songs and the vibe that he intended to transcend, changes in life come and go as he expresses so in the tracks. When you listen to “DIRTY JAZZ” (FMPS) it brings forth that vision that you may have when that one dancer that continues to visits you in your dreams all the time with the red pumps from the west coast and never leaves the night “un- interesting” comes to mind or put it like this.. you will never be in the “Un-enjoyment line” if it was left up to her. Or when you feel the reality in the song intensity of “SHELIKES2BONTOP” You know that the bass player is one with the emotion and the moment that is being display in this musical love session. “RUBY’S GROOVE “reminds you of a mellow moment that can’t be forgotten and shared over and over again as you sit back and drink “Moscata” as the breeze on the beach of your mind blows memories your way from back in the day…. We all need a blessing now and then some of us more than others... the choir sings so sweetly on “RAIN ON ME”…. And the blessings we be yours if you try and you will catch on for Son OF pearl is only here to soothe and move the masses and let the groove be thick like molasses and sweet to your mind as you find the time to just dig deeper in your soul mine. The cd ends with SWEET TEAA’S THEME” every hero needs his theme music and here you have it, we all need to laugh and feel the joy of the spirit no matter how hard the times maybe and the theme song works well here. There is more to listen to on the cd but as you find these tunes you will find the place where Son OF Pearl desires for you to be. As always the crew behind Pearl is tight and dedicated to the cause of bringing you a vibe that you can live and groove to on all occasions. The artwork for the cd was created by Ms Ally of Allison Goldberg’s Photography and of course there is the Mystery Lady behind the workings of the pre and post production of the cd down to the packaging and of course the influence of S.O.P.
