"This is a really solid release from a very gifted artist...California songstress, Sonya Greta, has collected a solid set of musicians to perform a solid set of songs...This collection of original music should challenge all the coffeehouse singers and acoustic wannabes to really explore their sound and create something memorable, as Sonya Greta has done with Vigilante Arcade." - Indieworkshop
"A folkie, singer-songwriter with a commanding voice and an ear for memorable melodies." - Charlie McEnerney, Well-Rounded Radio

Vigilante Arcade is the debut recording of Bay Area singer-songwriter Sonya Greta.
"My goal was to make use of the modern production techniques available, while keeping the organic elements of the performances." "I like Bruce Springsteen's Tunnel of Love record and Neil Young's After the Gold Rush. The variety within each record: to go from spare to fully produced. That's what I was trying to accomplish."

a lovely folk recording
author: Collected Sounds
The guitar is Sonya's main instrument but there's much more than that here on the recording. The songs are nicely written, unique, well-thought out. Greta's voice is deep, and soothing, while at the same time gutsy. It's a very homey feeling one gets when listening to her sing.
Her guitar style at times reminds me of Dar Williams. Some finger picking as well as strumming. At times the songs recall Audra Kubat (Happiness) and Joan Baez (I Don't See You).
"Ode to Mrs. Pontellier" Her use of dissonant chords and making the song go places you don't expect are what gives it a really interesting, almost sad feeling to it. Even before listening to the lyrics.
It's hard for me to choose a favorite track because they all have something lovely to offer.

Great dinner or driving on a sunny afternoon music
author: Barbara Stout
Sonya Greta's CD is reminiscent of pleasant sounding Shawn Colvinesque vocals with edgy Bob Dylan like lyrics. Makes for great dinner party music or driving on a sunny weekend afternoon. Looking forward to hearing more from this talented artist.

Phenomenol CD!
author: Susan Hatler
This is one of those rare CDs where I love EVERY song. Of course, I have my favorites and often put Holding On and Watershed on repeat when driving in the car. Can't wait til Ms. Greta comes out with her next album!
