PRESS on Finders Keepers
"Finders, Keepers is low-key but upbeat, a heady cross between a back-porch pickin' 'n' grinnin' jam session and a tightly knit excursion into a new folk revival...it's her choice of covers for this set that suggests if Hunter ever decides to lay down the pen, she has a job as a skilled interpreter a la Emmy Lou Harris waiting for her..." Fred Mills, Magnet
"Her melodies have a subtle, sorrowful pulse, and listening to Hunter sing about lost love and heartbreak is like tuning in on your best friend's most intimate thoughts...on this album, first released by the German Normal label a few years back, Hunter mixes matchless originals with traditional tunes and folky faves." j.poet, Pulse
"Hunter's frangible (that means strong AND fragile, kids) engaging voice is an addictive calmative; her artfully crafted Americana invokes a poignant wistfulness without tripping all over itself to wallow in maudlin self-indulgence...of the 14 tracks on the album, 6 are original compositions, while the others are faithful adaptations of traditional songs and lays penned by such Folk and Country luminaries as Bob Dylan, Stephen Stills and Buffy Sainte-Marie: these interpretations embody the difference between a 'tribute' and a 'cover.'" Mo McFreely, Wired Planet
* Mini Bio *
This Northern California-raised singer-songwriter's dedication to the craft is chronicled in her steadily growing discography that began in 1991 with "Favorite Short Stories." In addition to performing throughout the U.S. and regularly in her Bay Area stomping grounds, she has toured Europe widely with the German label release of her titles. Hunter relocated to New York City in '98, and then returned to San Francisco for the new millennium with a batch of songs (and a few recordings, too) that would soon be featured on her 2002 release "Sun in Mind."
