Album Notes

People rarely expect the treasures that lie beneath the surface of this young performer. However, Sonya Lorelle's songs reveal there is so much more to this talented individual. She has written a collection of music that explores the crevices of the soul and the human experience. Her effective piano stylings support her powerful voice as she delivers the message that reveals a depth of passion. Her songs are "torchy" and clever, and familiar enough that you will recognize yourself.

Stylistically Sonya has been described as a blend of Nora Jones and Fiona Apple. Sonya characterizes her music as folk with jazz and blues influences. She released her first CD, "Independent Woman," January 2003 at a concert at the New Coast Gallery in Reeds Spring. Currently she is performing solo throughout the Midwest. She has caught the attention of audiences and club owners while playing in New Orleans and Nashville. Most recently Sonya returned from Europe where she performed in London. She has received rave reviews since her emergence into the music scene. A Great American Song Contest Judge described her as an "obvious talent." She has received many awards throughout the years including 2nd place in Enormous Records Songwriting Contest in 1999 and an Honor Award in the 2002 Great American Songwriting Contest. REVIEWS

Filled with the passion of a musician and the depth of a real woman
author: Christina George
Sonya's music delves deep into your soul. The music has rhythm that moves you, the lyrics draw you in, and her voice knocks you out. She is an excellent songwriter/musician and I would love to have her book shows in the midwest once her current tour is over.

Powerful, Accessable and Glowing Tribute To All That is Human
author: Gary Pirtle
This CD was recently handed to me by a friend (sorry CDBaby!), and it remains a fact that anyone who recommends this CD is a friend indeed. Soulful, expressive, uncluttered yet elegant musicianship with a voice that will take you to familiar places you'll want to visit again. This is a CD of such quality and timeless endurance that I'd feel quite safe in offering a money-back guarantee. If you've made it this far.. go for it!

Even though I've listened to the CD a million times, I still cry at some songs.
author: Sarah Goalstone
Her music is unreal. The chords she comes up with to evoke certain emotions are awsome and she pulls the exact words to describe your feelings even when you don't know how to. I can listen to her to reflect or to get pumped up. I LOVE THIS CD!
