Ginans (Knowledge) were originally written by Pirs (Saints) in the 14th century as a means to expand the Ismaili Muslim faith. In this album, Shams has made an effort to re-mix the original "raags" or melodies into a new age form.

Album Notes

Shams began his musical journey at the age of 5 when his parents introduced him to a keyboard. His eastern culture and western environment encouraged an exotic blend of contemporary composition that mesmerized his listeners. The teachings of spirituality and the stimulating melodies were a perfect unison, which promised the emergence of an evolving artist.

Shams’ recent accomplishments include the release of "City of Light", a collection of cultural music and "Messages: Notes from the Soul" - a re-mixed compilation of Ginans originally composed by Pirs (Saints) in the 14th century; an innovative approach to spiritual music.

Shams has performed at several events including the Cultural and Arts program held in Atlanta, GA in 2001. His compositions are still used in other Cultural and Arts programs held in Houston, Dallas, and other states. Other events include weddings, charity concerts, and other community events with audiences of 1,000 or more. Shams' original compositions usually have a theme comprising of music that utilize wind and string instruments with percussions that originate from the middle east, central asia, and the west.
