Almost breathtaking

I simply love the music, the atmosphere it creates, it fills the air with passion.
But sadly the recording itself is a little flat. You might not notice it with a normal stereo, but if you paid a little more on your equipment you'll notice.
Don't get me wrong, I'm only nit picking here, the quality is not bad, its just not as good as it could have been.
It's like a diamond on a plastic ring. You know the diamond is worth a million bucks, but they should have picked a matching ring for it.
Still worth the money!!
I hope for the next record they choose a better recording studio (or editor), so we can experience the full power of Sophia Darcell.

Behold the complete artist!!
author: Ronald Jackson
I am absolutely delighted to offer this review of such a remarkable artist. Sophia Darcell is truly an incredibly magnetic and enveloping vocalist with all of the charm and sexiness one would expect from a soulstress who easily doubles as a smooth jazz vocalist in the same sultry company as one Sade. Her rich and mesmerizing vocals, coupled with her solid writing style, are incredibly and immediately endearing. From the smoothly driving opening track, Charades, to the last track, the latin-tinged Senor Alvarez, Darcell takes you on a story-telling journey--a bit unlike your traditional slow soul ballad but with just as much impact--that leaves no stone unturned. A must-have for any serious R&B/smooth jazz enthusiast!

Soul Eclectic is a delightful tapestry of downtempo and midtempo souljazz groove
author: Ayejay
Soul Eclectic is a delightful tapestry of downtempo and midtempo souljazz grooves. I always said that a downtempo and/or midtempo album is the hardest to make because the artist has to keep the listener interested.
The combination of Sophia Darcell warm vocals and the musicianship of the band makes for an shining example of what sophisticated soul is suppose to sound like. This band is continuing the tradition started by such great bands Incognito, Fertile Ground, and The Rebirth. Sophia Darcell's Soul Eclectic has that warm hypnotic groove that will grab hold and not let go. - AyeJaye, ArtHausNYC.com
