From a family of celebrated musicians, singer-songwriter Sophie Bancroft seamlessly blends her jazz influence with a broad but discerning swathe of contemporary folk styles. One of the most inventive and distinctive artists to emerge from Scotland, she has drawn comparison to vocalists as classily diverse as Peggy Lee, Alison Krauss and Norah Jones. Described as gorgeous acoustic music, her new CD ‘Bird of Paradise’ entails songs of love, life, and a tribute to Sophie’s home in Scotland.
