Album Notes

THIS ALBUM IS PART OF THE $5 SALE !

Out from the rain-soaked Portland underground...
Stricken by romantic rock n' roll notions...
Desperately catchy...
Doomed to fail...
All of these songs are true.

SO SADLY FUCKED is:
Brian Kruse aka Brian Dead = guitars, vocals, piano, samples, songs and memories.

Kimi Barham aka Kimi B.= bass, vocals, side comments and observations.

Antonio Gonzales aka Tony G. = drums, vocals, compliments and complaints.

This album was recorded in Portland OR. with Larry Crane (Tape Op magazine, Vomit Launch) at his JACKPOT STUDIO.
The cover photo was taken on Brian's fire escape above the intersection of 28th & Glisen St. in Portland by Andrew Gilsen.
In summers past, Brian would sit on the metal framework with his black cat Dracnosty aka Tito aka Burrito(pictured on CD tray photo) and blow bubbles on the cars below. Thousands of bubbles...

So Sadly Fucked is working hard to complete the recording for the next full length album titled "The Greatest Break-Up Record of All Time".

Thanks for reading this. That was neat of you...

SO SADLY FUCKED
Self-Titled Debut Cd
(Circle Five Records)
***

After listening to approximately 1500 "straightforward indie rock" records in the past month, I think I have discovered what makes 99.9% of them horrible. It includes, but is not limited to: lack of dynamics, hooks, originality, or personality, intense narcissism, and way too fucking much Sunny Day Real Estate. So when a band comes along that has even the remotest amounts of charm and humility, it's like a buoy in the middle of a sea of crap. HELLO SO SADLY FUCKED! Their vocals weave through each other in a way that's endearingly sloppy, and their hooks are sweet and adhesive, like real maple syrup. Their lack of pretension and their cuddly guitars display nothing but the utmost enthusiasm for the music they're making. You'll want to reach out and hug them, not only because they're honest, but also because they're not boring!
JULIANNE SHEPHERD - THE PORTLAND MERCURY

So Sadly Fucked is the kind of rock band you can't take home to your mother but you can trust with your girlfriend. They are cute and deadly as a Care Bear with cobras for arms. But you should hug them. Oh YES, hug them. They made this music just for you. And they are nice people - if perhaps a bit insecure.

Thanks for this CD, Brian! I sit next to Brian at work, and saw this album cover up on his computer screen. I remember this album cover from when I worked at the record store - it always looked interesting and worth checking out. So happy was I when Brian, who was on a phone call, silently mouthed "You want one?" and gave me a copy from his tin lunchbox. Thanks Brian, I hope the music is as fulfilling as this full-circle story has been. :)

Hi, my name is Marty Flynn. I am a actor living in NYC. I met Brian Dead in the park one day and he gave me this CD. It\'s great. reminds me of Versus. But Brian is sadistic and he does not love me...
