Finally their masterpiece !

Eccentric, ironic, classical but personal, the SOTW succeed in a not easy enterprise: their music picks up the heritage of the 70'hard rock and the traditional heavy metal, remixes the styles with cleverness and proposes a new style with ancient roots. The SOTW music has a strong American component: Metal Church for the vocals, Manilla Road and Cirith Ungol for the epic, Blue Oyster Cult for the lyrics;but also the Europe is important: Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Nazareth. Among the best tracks there are: "Wings of Doom", "Snaggletooth" and "The Reaper" fast with good guitar riffs by Barry Waddell and the Wes Waddell's mighty voice. As many fine the slowest and dark songs with doom influences: "Nikhedonia" and "Behind the Eyes of Evil". The best song, for me, is "Battle Scars" that begins as an epic ride in the Iron Maiden vein, then it turns into a powerful and maestoso song in the Black Sabbath Style.
"Once in a Blue Moon" is the best work from a great band. Highly recommended.

SOTW Once in a Blue Moon

I have followed this band's music from almost the beginning. With every new cd, their music gets stronger, and this is the best yet. Their lyrics are undeniably compelling and the lead singer has the ability to change his voice to fit the change in the music. The music itself, seeps into your blood and goes right through your bones to creep into your soul! I will continue to follow this band and their extrordinary music for as long as they continue to play!!!
