ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Known for running the gamut of sonic exploration, Soulajar taps into their Bakersfield roots with their latest single, "Love's a Funny Thing". After being booked to headline the world-famous Buck Owens Crystal Palace in June of 2011, Soulajar felt it was time to add their stamp on the town's signature sound, giving back to the community that has supported them throughout a near decade of music. For the months of April & May, Soulajar will be donating all proceeds from the single to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life.

An homage to their hometown without losing the groove
The boys maintain their solid groove in this contemporary-country hit, and somehow this foray into new territory doesn't seem out of place, whatsoever. Hard not to support the good cause of raising funds for ACS/Relay for Life, but with or without that backing the release, I'd still support this single. While not a traditional Merle or Buck-sounding tune, or even the modern throwback Americana sound of many of today's artists, this track holds the crossover appeal that can secure a solid spot on any contemporary radio dial. Bravo!
