From Jamaica to the Middle East, from Eastern Europe to Uganda and the American Deep South, SoulAviv has gone around the world to find rhythms and grooves to create unique settings for the prayers of the Friday night Shabbat service. We brought together some great musicians to help us, including MB Gordy on percussion (the Doobie Bro's, Steely Dan), Mick Mahan on bass (Pat Benatar, Steve Miller), and Tim Akers on keyboards (Rascal Flatts, Kenny Loggins). And our co-producer and mixing engineer, Dave Reitzas has engineered albums by Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Barbra Streisand, to name just a few.
Here's some of what people are saying about the services we've done over the past year using these prayer settings:
“Every once in a while artists come and revolutionize a genre of music. Before you know it, we are wondering how we ever existed without their musical genius. This is how good I believe your group is." -- Pam Rush, Cantorial Soloist, Temple Emanuel, Grand Rapids, MI
“Everyone has been buzzing about the service…I really enjoyed the collaboration we were able to achieve on the bema, and of course your music speaks for itself. Congratulations! Yasher koach! Mazel Tov! ”-- Cantor Mark Saltzman, Congregation Kol Ami, West Hollywood, CA
