Album Notes

The long awaited new album from Soul Basement is finally out.


"These Days" took two years of work in the studio to be finally complete. We can't help but notice the different approach Soul Basement has on this new recording, the sound is more direct and spontaneous, totally acoustic and reminding of a seventies album.


The words are genuine, deep and heartfelt, reflecting the inner growth he has gone through in these last years.
For this work Soul Basement has been joined by his new vocalist Ben Cina.


Everything on "These Days" comes from the heart, everything is purely heart and soul.

"Writing the songs for this new album has been a wonderful experience.
I've been working in the studio with Ben and I can say I'm really happy and satisfied with the final results.


It took almost one year to write the nine songs from "These Days".
It's been an intense work and this time I tried to find the hints within myself and no longer without as I used to do for my previous recordings.


Many people inspired me all along with their closeness and priceless suggestions.
My wonderful wife, Marijana, has been a main inspiration, and her love, honesty and sincere friendship some of the foremost reasons behind the birth of this album.
All of my friends and family they've always been there for me as well.


It was not easy to find the right singer for these new songs but as soon as I listened to Ben's voice I knew he had to be the one.
Me and Ben we had such a great time in the studio and I've learnt a lot from these months of working at the album together".

The songs on "These Days" were recorded with Ben Cina at vocals. Soul Basement played all of the instruments.


"These Days" was written, composed and produced by Soul Basement.


The album was recorded at Inner Worlds, N.Y. and mastered by twice Grammy nominated engineer Andy Jackson (Pink Floyd, David Gilmour) at Tube Mastering, London.
