Album Notes

This contemporary roots album covers many genres in the world of reggae. From roots to dub, to up beat ska to conscious dance hall this album is sure to please even the most hardcore of reggae enthusiasts. In March and April of 2004 the band recorded this much-anticipated sophomore album "Until That Day" in Jamaica at the infamous Tuff Gong Studio, run by Bob Marley's family. It all adds up to a band from Santa Cruz poised to inherit the top US Reggae Band mantel previously held by Blue Riddim and Inka Inka. They had the honor of working with legendary artists/producers Sly and Robbie, as well as vocal artist Anthony B, and percussion veterans Sticky Thompson and Bongo Herman. Other artists the band featured on the album, lesser known in the international eye are two youth named Elijah Mackone featured on "Poor People" and Fargo Voice, featured on "Red Eye". The three piece Jamaican horn section , barrowed from groups such as "The Fab Five," consisted of Hopeton Williams on Trumpet, Howard Foulds on Saxophone, and Romeo Gray on Trombone. Soul Majestic also worked with renowned producers/mixing engineers Shane Brown, Chris Miller and Soljie Hamilton who lent there magic at the mixing board as well as co-producing. You can also look out for several singles on '45 including their first single, "Stand Up," featuring Anthony B, as well as the dub fallow up album "Until That Dub".
