Album Notes

Underground Soul was recorded at the House of Vibe Studios in San Diego, CA. We were inspired to write songs about various friends and characters whom we met throughout our lives in NYC who weren't always accepted by society; hence the title "Underground Soul." These songs have thought provoking and provocative, yet sensual and edgy lyrics. Combined with the melodies, vocal deliveries and mood of the music this cd will capture the listener and take you on a journey that lets you off in a different place than you started, and in some cases will change the listener forever. On a technical note Underground Soul was predominantly recorded with the band playing to a click and then samples and loops were created around the band. In some cases the loops and samples came first and then the band locked and recorded to this. However there are two songs on the cd "Butterfly" and "Come Together" in which the songs were recorded with no click, almost as if the band were performing the songs live. This shows a different kind of lock, one that captures the true essence of the band. This cd with it's controversial lyrics and emotional melodies is also soulful, heartfelt and sometimes funky. After experiencing Underground Soul you'll come away singing these songs and going back to listen again and again.
