Album Notes

Soul Sister Sally infuses funk, jazz, and blues into a classic rock sound that is hard to describe but easy to love. Formed in 2006 by Andy Williams (former drummer for the Grammy Award winning band Casting Crowns) and his wife Kelly, the funk/fusion sound of Soul Sister Sally is created by Andy (Percussion), Kelly (lead vocals), Nathan Mickler (lead vocals), Darren Buckner (lead guitar), Chris Forslund (bass), and Charles King (keyboards). Kelly's powerhouse vocals pull from deep in her soul and rise to the rafters, reminiscent of the early jazz singers of the '50's. Mickler pumps in some raspy rock that is always a crowd pleaser. The band's sound comes from a variety of influences, including Kool & the Gang, James Brown, Whiteheart, & Celine Dion. In 2008, Soul Sister Sally released a debut EP. Green Grass (Mama Said There'd Be Days Like These) features five original songs along with a contemporary arrangement of the "How Marvelous". The first single has received airplay in Atlanta.
