notes
The varied backgrounds of the members of Los Angeles based The Soundabout make for a decidedly fresh take on modern pop music. With their self-titled, debut album, principal songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Daniel Cleland, veteran rock/jazz drummer Greg Paxton, multi-instrumentalist and bassist Dave Beery, and blues-influenced lead guitarist Daryl Boggs create a sound that is always in touch with their influences, but never follows in the same path. With a focus on strong melodies, lyrics, and lots of good old fashioned harmonies, this album just might be what your ears have been craving. The Soundabout don't attempt to revolutionize the genre, but rather embrace it until it conforms to their mold.

What a nice surprise!
author: Gilberto Serodio"Good Bye" and "Song to my side" are simply masterpieces. "Am what I am" and "Only you" are big hitters. These guys are really good! What a nice surprise!

Fresh happy music that stays fresh
author: Laurence TimmsImmediately accessible, The Soundabout have managed to create a sound that can be enjoyed at the first taste. Yet they manage to keep the interest going as each new track comes up. Sure, there are influences here - but not just the Beatles and not just the 60s. There's some genuine depth to their music and lyrics. Merits repeated listening.
Great pop tunes, simple, to the point and very fresh
author: Niles PimaGreat three-chord rock but with a pedigree I suppose is what I would say. Not your standard pop fare but very much in tune with modern sensibilities, i.e., sounds fresh.

Quite nice. Very Beatley/ Beach Boys at times. Today's market is missing this sound. Great production. Smart.
