Album Notes

With the release of their LP "The Calling" in 2007, The Sound Mirrors are no newcomers to the rock landscape.

Releasing their first album "Signs of Life" in 2004 (under the moniker "Nemo" - a take on Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea), Luke McCartney & Dennis Tyhacz earned the praise of rock critics & fans alike. With Left Off The Dial declaring Signs of Life "One of the best albums of the year", and The New York Press proclaiming "Lord knows we've been waiting for Rock and New Wave to marry for a long time"..."Signs of Life" soon found heavy rotation in college radio & NPR and the album was only a sonic-hint at things to come.

Emerging in 2007 with "The Calling", McCartney & Tyhacz managed to turn the tables on the listener once again. Delving into sonic-ambience with futuristic-rock at the helm, "The Calling" echoes the experimentation achieved on "Signs of Life", but that's only the beginning of the journey. Honest opinions on the current political landscape and sonic musings make their case, and some of the best damn rock-songs on this side of the pond evolve.
