Album Notes

After filming in 20 cities through Europe and Asia, The Busking Project has compiled hundreds of hours of great performances by over a hundred artists. On this CD, the first round of music from a busking journey around the world, take the train out of Calcutta with a Bengali Baul, avoid the police in a Barcelona courtyard, get crazy on the streets of Shibuya in Tokyo, and spend a night in the chaotic market of Djemaa el Fna in Marrakech. All the recordings on this CD have been taken on the streets — no audio engineering, no studios, and (sometimes) surrounded by hundreds of people watching.
