Album Notes

Sounds of ASTEROTH
www.soundsofasteroth.com

Sounds of ASTEROTH is the band that the Los Angeles underground is in love with!

With their out of control live shows and infectious music they are captivating the city of angels and taking prisoners!

They have been compared to everything from David Bowie to Sonic Youth.

Think Hedwig meets The B52's meets Queen at a Rockie Horror Picture Show midnight showing.

In short:

Sounds of Asteroth are from the planet
Glimmer. They descended upon
Los Angeles in the year 1836, but
decided to hatch from their diamond
shaped time capsule only three years
ago. Since that time they have been
busy doing what they love to do
most, making music.
In hopes of soothing the dismal
state of the world they have created a
sound that is delicious to the senses.
Their recipe is simple: a dash of rock,
a pinch of pop, dry ice, a teaspoon of
glam, a smidgen of campy punk , a cup
of Spanish horns, a boiling hot dance
troupe, 4 scoops of organic harmonies,
and a hand full of glitter. Sounds of
Asteroth knows how to cook up a
musical birthday cake that is tasty
to the ears, as well as the eyes
without the artificial flavors

They are the soundtrack for an abstract animated soap opera.

Awesome! This CD is on rotation in my walkman and in my car! My favorite song is Fluorescent Lighting and Isabelle which is kinda like a spanish rock torch song. They sound like nothing I've ever heard. But if I had to descibe them I would say they are the soundtrack for an abstract animated soap opera.

Refreshing debut album from a unique, powerful band
author: Jeff
Big Top Hotel is a formidable debut album. Each band member is incredibly talented as a musician and bandmate. Their individual gifts as musicians gel perfectly on this great album. I rated this album as 4 stars; this is given in comparson with every great album from every great artist in rock history. Their satirical lyrics take a well-deserved stab at pop culture, drawing blood with every attempt. Modern Rock NEEDS this band. Period. Self-important mainstream music needs an enema. This is the band that can do it, without even trying. Any major record label with any intelligence would be all over this band.

I've been a big fan of this band ever since I saw them over a year ago. Their live shows can't be touched - every audience I've seen has been converted. The show would be nothing without the songs though. Even though the band can perform the hell out of them, it wouldn't matter if they weren't great tunes. The studio recordings of these songs leave none of that live spunk out. It's OK to dance like a mofo in your room. Get this now so that you can say you knew them when!
