Album Notes

Soup of the Day is a recent relocation to the Seattle Metro area, bringing with them a tightly organized, rhythm-heavy form of music not usually found in nature. Their sound is characterised by a fusion of hip-hop, jazz and rock, with influences ranging from Zappa to Zorn, Marley to Mozart, Sinatra to Sammy Hagar.

Most people just say "wow."

SOTD first began to brew in Spokane in 1995, and finally came to a boil in February of 1999. Since then, they have rocked crowds across the country and released two albums independently. They've played venues large and small, from the likes of the Showbox in Seattle, to dirty little holes like the Old MIA-MI in Detroit. For a listing of last years venues, try clicking here.

SOTD plays all originals with a vastly danceable groove, coupled with nearly a century of musical knowledge between them and a mad professional approach to performance. Truly a band on the cutting edge.
