Album Notes

My apologies to all who tried to buy this CD coming from www.SourceCodeX.com as my server's forwarding option actually prevented people from logging in to purchase, review or e-mail me! I have corrected this now. Again, my bad!

(ABOUT CDBaby's 2 minutes samples and long-form ambient works -- many times a 2-minute intro barely scratches the surface of ALL the bliss-effects that are to come in compositions like mine. So realize this when you listen. It easily takes over 2 minutes for my works to really "kick in" with all the "bells and whistles" my cinematic work is known for...)

After the successful release and favorable press from my earlier releases - I sensed the need to create again. Within a 10-day span in January 2008, I composed/conceived and finished my third release - The Persistence of Ambience. This shorter work flow allowed a clearer reflection of the composer's immediate world-line with less "time" separation. I found this marathon type of approach a real catharsis. When I felt "empty" - I stopped the creative process. Four long-form ambient pieces each easily flow one into the other for an overall similar yet distinct experience. I wanted to journey along a path of well-lit surrealism in sound that reflected my inmost feelings. Those of you who know of "Timesteps" by W. Carlos on the Clockwork Orange release will understand some of my inspiration compositionally speaking but The Persistence of Ambience is much less helter-skelter. After experimenting with tense & dark ambient soundscapes, I felt the need to express a newness in my life leaning towards the Light. The Persistence of Ambience echoes resolution, relaxation, revelations & returning to peace. Tension & release are employed compositionally as it produces balance but the intensity of stressful tones is greatly subdued.

The presence of natural or "found sound" is interwoven as the synth tones themselves called for such. Sometimes the synth textures spoke rain or water or wind or machine. When this happened, I decided to mirror the virtual with realities we have each encountered. This somehow was deeply relaxing to my psyche as soon as I combined the soundmaps. It made warm yet sterile synths seem more alive, organic and I felt myself "go back" in time to deep memories. I hope thus is true for the listener as well. Enjoy!

Time is an illusion . . .???

This CD will demonstrate time flow is indeed subjective & relative.

Immerse yourself and escape the illusion.

Space-Time Twisting by Light funding info:

I have been interested in time travel for most of my life. I may have read & written time-travel stories and/or watched all the movies but Dr. Ronald L. Mallett of the University of Connecticut is actually designing a time warping / travel machine! He is a theoretical physicist and his experimental technology needs funding. He plans on using lasers to warp space within a light cylinder. The laser lights paths stacked upon each other will simulate an intense gravity well like an immense object or a black hole in the warping of space time. If Mallett's theory and experimental technology can cause "frame dragging" or space-time warping on a small scale, then a larger and more powerful laser-driven model could actually twist space enough to cause a closed time-loop which would allow a time warp or a way for the past & future to be connected to the present. The University of Connecticut (UConn) has set up a funding page for Mallett's research. (See link on left side of page.)

I have decided to donate $1 from the sale of each CD of of my The Persistence of Ambience release to Dr Mallett's research. So join the team & donate to research that is actually trying to manipulate space-time itself. Imagine the possibilities . . . Once the machine can send info to the past, it can also receive info from the future! Imagine mankind contacting the future. In essence, we or us in tomorrow-land reaching back to us now. It boggles the mind. A larger & improved design device in the future could actually receive matter itself from the future instead of signals only. Dr. Mallett has been contacted about my plans to donate monies from the CD's sales and is very grateful.
