Selling one’s music to the public is like applying for a job. You resume should not contain items that do not support your qualifications to get the job. To support my goal to spread my music worldwide, I do the following:
1 compose upbeat music with good melodies.
2 write lyrics about life events that listeners can or may identify as similar to their own life events.
3 Write lyrics using common words that still allow me to maintain the rhyming structure.
4 Recognize that all relationships do not satisfactorily reach their goals, so to cover all basis, I write about failures as well.
5 Keep the vocalist voice “up front” so he/she is not competing with the music.
6 Choosing the proper vocalist for the song helps a lot.
Part of my education included becoming a licensed psychiatrist which allowed me the privilege for 25 years to hear and help people with relationship trials, tribulations, success, failures, and “re-starts” as it related to new relationships.
As a result, my lyrics are derived from real life issues. I have tried to make my music “sound” different from other musical groups to add variety to customers’ musical libraries..check out my other albums: Genre: Jazz, Sub-genre: Big Band, Dance Band, Ballroom Dance. I have played trombone in dance bands earlier. This CD has Rhumba, Fox Trot, Swing (Jitterbug), & Waltz rhythms.
Vocalist on this CD: Ted Sousares on songs 1 & 4. Jennifer Johnson on Song 8. Donna Lipman on Song 11.
Let me know if you identify your own life experiences with my lyrical “stories” by sending me an e-mail tedsou@austin.rr.com
I have more new original music in the pipeline for later release. Thank you for your attention, and enjoy my new music.
