ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We are made up from several different backgrounds of music. Gene Avey is an outstanding Guitar player and vocalist, rooted in Classic Country and Pop Music, had several hits throughout the 70's and 80's including a song (Far Away) that we did a remake of on this album. Mark "Rockette Morton" Boston, on the Bass, comes from a Rock and Blues background, being one of the legendary music pioneers from Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, also went on to form the group "Mallard" after leaving the Magic Band. Has worked with and recorded with many top groups throughout his career such as Leon Everette, Frank Zappa and Jethro Tull. Mark bring a wealth of experience to the group. Les "Bo" Kitchings has his roots deep in Country music, grew up on Merle Haggard, George Jones, Charlie Pride, Conway Twitty and all the greats. Was introduced to the idea of playing the drums from best friend and fellow drummer Richard Turner at the age of eight (8), loves the fact that he can do what he has waited a lifetime to do, play the music he loves with folks he loves including his youngest son, Daniel "DK" Kitchings, A guitar picker that loves the likes of Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Corey Smith, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray, is also largely influenced by local Guitarist and Singer "Bret Short". Daniel Plays Electric Guitar as well as Acoustic Guitar. This blend of music styles and genres makes for a great sound. Take time to check out this tight group. We are THE SOUTHERN MELTDOWN BAND.
