Nice assortment w/ ace delivery, strong melodic bass line, smooth vocals
author: Barb Molloy
This compilation has more than enough change of pace on the playlist to keep your interest -- from the rockin' love ballad, Queen of My Dreams with those hot guitar riffs, to the smokey jazz atmosphere of Goin'for Broke, and the mesmerizing Chamber of Your Heart.
The versatility and quality of musicianship are outstanding and the dynamics are pristine throughout.
Not only does Charlie's virtuoso bass carry the songs with a strong undercurrent, his vocals here display a lot of range -- with super smooth intervals and varied intonations from mellow to sexy. His clear delivery of the lyrics is satisfying, especially on the insightful 24 hours a day, and the lulling, romantic narrative of Dreamtime.
I enjoyed playing all these over and over again while writing this review.
