It has a great sound and a great variety of music.

The New Tropics did a great job of pulling together an album that provides a variety of music with some that is reminiscent of the Old Tropics, but with a big band sound. I had to get used to the New Tropic sound, but was blown away by the great sound of the album. It is truly one of the best albums I have ever heard!

A great car stereo listen for tooling around any semi-tropical landscape.

I am a big fan of Charlie, he keeps melody alive in his new music, which always seems to have a 'classic rock' feel even if the piece was written last year. LIVIN' IN PARADISE pushes on with this technique as he takes his own original tunes like 'Carry Me Back' and 'Time' and sets them up with great elan alongside of classics like "Summertime Blues' and 'All you Need is Love' - rarely do artists have this kind of conficence - and this kind of skill to make it all work as a thru listen. Put this CD on in your car when you head to the beach. It sounds its best cranked up in a convertable!

Every song was great, a lot of varity for your ears to hear!

The song ,"Black Jacket Woman" has a beat and melody that is totally danceable. I was bouncing around in my car...
I was amazed at the version of "Summertime Blues"... It made me feel nostalgic and at the same time it was such a better mix of sound, full of percussion and a smoother jazzier sound... I really loved the way they did this. It was such an interesting mix, I had my ear to the speaker the whole time!
The song, "All you need is Love" made me feel a little like I was cheating on a Beatles memory, but I loved hearing the song, they did a perfect job with it.
There is a rap song on this CD, "Comin Afta You", that really surprised me.. I don't like rap, but this song held my attention... not obnoxious at all, and really made me smile...
"Bright Side", is a song that everyone will love... I can really see the New Rascals playing this song, and it becoming a number one hit. It reminded me of the kind of music I used to hear in the 60's.
"Trip Through Time" is a song that you will not be able to get out of your head...it is one that just keep playing over and over in your mind just after hearing it one time... that is a recipe for a # 1 hit... o yea!
Charlie, you are brilliant and gifted musician.

A real stroke of genius
author: Ray Martin
I was first introduced to Charlie Souza via Bill Lordan (Robin Trower Band).
He colaborated with Bill and Eric Turner on some songs and I wanted to hear more.
Livin' In Paradise is a wonderful album with a diversity of styles.
Jazzed up Rock and Roll in Summertime Blues, some mean sax.
Latin influenced blues (Javier Vargas/Santana) on track 4. Time. Amazing song.
Funky rock. If you like your music happy then this album is a must as Charlie takes you on a Trip Thru Time to a Simple Life.
Mr Souza is very luck to be surrounded by some great musicians too. The guitar and brass sound so pure. Great production skills.
A real stroke of genius is to finish the CD with a classic Lennon/McCartney track, All You Need Is Love.
Dare I say it??? Equals the original version.
Livin' In Paradise is a marvellous blend of memorable tunes, great stories and observations, served up in an appetising array of styles. I'll be surprised if I can find a more enjoyable listen this year.
