Album Notes

The trio S P A C E took form in 1986 and performed together until 1988. Under the musical direction of Scott Jarrett, guitarists/vocalists Alan Ross, Garrett Randolph, and Jarrett fused acoustic folk, pop, rock, and chant. This collection is the group's complete works.

The multi-faceted Jarrett displays his superior abilities as songwriter/singer/musician/vocal arranger/engineer/producer on the project. The former Arista recording artist, who scored a regional break-out hit with "Miles of Sea" in 1980, offers a re-recording of that hit here with S P A C E.

Ross's work, chronicled on the three CDs "Poet Warrior" "Scorpius Risin'" and "Scottish Influence", the latter including "Bell Rock Light" - the No. 1 song on Coverunner Radio (Redondo Beach, Calif.) rated by listeners in the fall of 2003 - spans a 38-year career that began in New York's Greenwich Village in the mid-1960s, extending through the 2003 release of "Scottish Influence".

Randolph, the legendary Maine woodsman/singer/songwriter, released the critically acclaimed Backbone Road Records solo CD "As Promised" in 1994. Aptly nicknamed "Mr. Universe," Randolph brings a lifelong love of land, sky, and song to S P A C E.

All three are featured lead vocalists. The work of S P A C E has been hailed as some of the finest modern folk music recorded since the Sixties.
