Album Notes

Spaghetti Cake's latest single "Guitar Hero" was written by Glen Nelson and longtime friend Mike Shirra. Don't be fooled by the title; it is not about the popular video game persay, but rather about the real guitar heroes of our youth (Van Halen, AC/DC, Deep Purple, etc.) and the guitar heroes in our real lives that inspired us to pick up an instrument in the first place. It is a song about musical awakenings, when a young person first realizes the power of their creative and artistic dreams. Perhaps if there is an underlying message in the song it is that if you're going to spend hundreds of hours playing a video game, you might as well spend that time practicing a real instrument and become a REAL guitar hero!

This rocking new single features one of Dennis Fancher's finest recorded guitar solos to date, and the debut of Glen Nelson on acoustic guitar! Todd "E-Bones" Howard returns on bass, and original drummer Mike Tierney not only recorded and mixed the single in his own studio, Audio Media Solutions, but reprises his role on drums as well. Paul Howard (yes, Todd "E-Bones"'s Dad) joins the band on acoustic guitar, and usual frontman Susan Birk of course adds her distinct voice to the mix as well. Band percussionist Christopher Eddy contributed the excellent original cover artwork.

We hope that you enjoy "Guitar Hero"! It was a joy to write and record from start to finish! Thanks to everyone who contributed their time and talent to the project!
