Album Notes

Hailing from Milwaukee, WI, Spanglemaker has been spending their time playing shows in support of it's most recent CD "End of the Gray" which The Onion Newspaper describes as ..."superior-sounding. The album's unabashed pop-rock nods to the current crop of tuneful U.K. bands like Coldplay, which makes it a pleasant standout in a city known for more rocking fare."

Recorded last year at Butch Vig's Smart Studios in Madison, WI. "Gray" combines the strong vocals of their earlier work with a new found guitar attack to create a smarter arrangement not unlike that of Coldplay or Travis yet truly all their own. While concentrating on their live show, spanglemaker has also found time to write songs for a new project. They plan to hit the studio later this year to lay down tracks for their fourth CD to be released early 2004

What happens when a guy with depth and edge lets down his guard, who's firmly planted feet make way for pop hooks that could make one giddy? Spanglemaker. Along the lines of Coldplay, U2, Travis, a hint of Billy Joel in the wings and Jeff Buckley, stirred with piano pop, bred with brit pop and smoothed together with a serrated knife, Spanglemaker is polished (with matte finish, not glossy) and forges the perfect balance between dark and bright.
