Mark Spangler was a member of Johnny & The Distractions, the seminal Portland band that built a rabid regional following in the 1980s and recorded for A&M Records.

In the years since, Mark has maintained a busy schedule as a sideman and studio musician, as well as recording a number of solo projects. His songs have been used in a national ad campaign for Chevy trucks, and featured on NPR’s popular “Car Talk” radio show.

Mark’s new album, Long Story Short, was produced by Gregg Williams (Sheryl Crow, Wallflowers, Dandy Warhols, China Forbes). With contributions from a stellar cast of players including Eric Earley (Blitzen Trapper), Denny Bixby (Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller), and Courtney Von Drehle(3 Leg Torso), the 10-song collection showcases a veteran musician and songwriter at the top of his game.
