SparkleJet started life---as a roots-rock recording project---in the winter of 1996. In the summer of 1997, we offered the world our first self-released album. Simply entitled, "SOAP," the CD was received well by critics and was compared to artists like; Tom Petty, Paul Westerberg and the Replacements. Then, a great thing happened: SparkleJet grew-up and got its act together. We wrote some songs, played a lot of shows, re-wrote some songs and went into the studio. What came outta that was 1998's "This Years Model"; a 13-song offering that garnered rave reviews from publications like; The Fresno Bee, San Francisco Guardian, BAM, Sacramento's Alive & Kickin', Yeah Yeah Yeah, and various on-line Web site reviews. We got on some compilations, including "Man You Gotta Move," released on Heyday Records. We did a couple of Northwest tours, drank a lot of beer and even sold some CDs in the process. "This Years Model" got us featured in Billboard Magazine under, "Artist Spotlight: Best New Artist." The songs, "Move On," "Take Me Home," and "Keep 'Em Guessin'," were featured during segments in 2000's ESPN Extreme Games.
Sparklejet keeps writing, growing older, gaining weight but has yet to grow any gray hairs. They also released the album, Bar Guest, earlier this year. You can also find that here on CD Baby.
