Album Notes

Spaz & Al's Band was formed by Lima, Ohio, entertainment columnist Spaz Moorehead and songwriter/guitarist Al Morris in 1992 with a mission. High quality covers with lush harmonies stripped to acoustic format was just the thing, and they've been growing ever since. Bassist Mike Edwards has been with the band 9 years, and new kid Trevor Compton, an accomplished songwriter/solo performer in his own right, round out the well oiled machine. Big or small, Spaz & Al's Band performs electric and acoustic gigs all over Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and West Virginia and have built up a following as varied as their songlist. Young or old, rock, country, blues, jazz, gospel or whatever your taste, Spaz & Al's Band has something for everyone. And they do it SO well, they decided to put their originals down for posterity. "Warts And All" is a collection of songs ranging through all their styles, touching many subjects in sometimes serious, sometimes wry, lyrical songs that stick in your head and heart. The songs reflect the members experiences with God, love, marriage, poverty, raising kids, travelling and how the band began (Born Unplugged). Sure hope you enjoy their CD, which reflects their live sound accurately (they recorded much of it live, hence the "warts" as small errors were left in place), and if you come see them live you'll enjoy covers of many, MANY classic songs, as well as the CD Cuts...enjoy, and email your comments to spazmoorehead@yahoo.com!

Excellent lyrics across the board and pretty, often haunting melodies particularly "Changes" and "Close the bar,Ted", as well as the fun songs"Spank Shoe Mama" and "Southern Comfort" (Love the Kazoo!!!) as well as many slow and fast dance tracks. They even squeezed in a couple of inspirational/spiritual tunes "Invitation" and "Changes". Overall A Most Excellent Presentation!!!
