merging word with other artists' music,dance and visual art. ON THE SHARP SIDE includes back-up from esteemed reed man Buddy Collette on flute, vocalist Dwight Trible, percussionist Munyungo Jackson, bassist Roberto Miguel Miranda, and Louis Van Taylor,Jr. on saxophone and flute.

Sharp's essays and commentaries are heard on NPR and other
broadcast outlets. She has four volumes of published
poetry, the non-fiction Black Women For Beginners (distr. by Random House) and the poetry w/jazz CD HIGHER GROUND (2008). An award winning filmmaker, she merged poetry with film in the short Back Inside Herself, and the feature documentaries Life Is A Saxophone, on "word musician" Kamau Daa'ood, and The Healing Passage/Voices From The Water.
