How did you guys manage to cram five albums worth into one? Talk about value for money! Not to say this album is overly long or rushed, because it's not, there's just so much in there! I know I ain't ever gonna get bored with listening to it! Took my senses, one at a time, and then stretched, twisted, and caressed them into a new, and interesting combination. After only the first listening I felt a better man for the experience! Believe me, you will too!!!

Holds nothing back.

Those who like this CD might call it "uncompromising." Those who dislike it might call it "self-indulgent." Both descriptions would be accurate. There is no compromise here, and the musical style is hard to describe. Think Pink Floyd, but not the late, commercial, Waterless Floyd - not even the transitional "Dark Side of the Moon" Floyd. Go back to the days before "Ummagumma" when Pink Floyd used guitars and electronica and drums and every other means of making sounds that they could think of to create visionary images in audio form. The difference here is that many things have happened in popular music in the 40 years or so that have passed since early Floyd. We've seen grunge, thrash, crash, and all sorts of other mini-movements rise and fall. Specimen 37 draws on those influences in places, giving them a somewhat broader palette than the 60's and 70's provided. "Adverse Reaction" shows a raw power and the ability to translate a vision into music. It shows a musical talent that is still developing and promises more and better things to come. I recommend that you get this CD and future releases from this group to see how that development proceeds. It should be quite a ride.
