"...Singer/songwriter Mike Detmer has a casual approach to writing, singing, and playing...making it sound so effortless that you almost forget what fantastic songs you're hearing. This Indiana-based band has some of the best folky pop songs around. Kickass tracks include "Darkest Hour," "Don't Hurt Me" (our favorite), "Living in a Dream," and "Yesterday." Exceptionally tasty. (Rating: 5+) "

-BabySue Reviews

"With wild rock energy and super-catchy melodies, they come off like if the Apples in Stereo decided to pattern
themselves after Crazy Horse."

The Spectacular Fantastic is a band on the rise. Hailing from the Cincinnati, Ohio area, Mike Detmer has been the creative force behind TSF's sound for the past 4 years. Beginning as a one-man recording project and eventually transforming into a four piece rock and roll experience, The Spectacular Fantastic has become one of the most recognizable names in the Midwest original music community.

Past achievements for the band include several regional music festival appearances including Midpoint Music Festival, Midwest Music Summit, and The Forecastle Festival, a top 3 finish in the 2003 Woxy 97x Exposure contest while Citybeat nominated Detmer in the Singer/Songwriter of the year category in the 2003 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards.

With the recent release of The Spectacular Fantastic Goes Underground and the free internet only "I love you" EP, the band is hoping to gain the attention required for an ever growning regional fanbase.
