ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Spectravox was formed in 2008 after much brainstorming by Bo Solomon and Jeff Boyes. Joking about writing a song about a band that hates each other turned into “I Can’t wait To Quit”. Bo & Jeff found singer Sam Botts and Charley Waddill after auditioning several other singers and drummers of varying talent. While we don’t yet despise each other, that inevitability has been made a certainty by the addition of 12 other songs about hate, murder, fire, drinking, smoking, driving, dead drummers, jukeboxes, drug use, childhood, the futility yet invincibility of rock, mental illness, and a car wreck. Yet the fun only begins with the themes. Sonically, we recorded this first album planning on NO solos (three crept in) or harmonies (one snuck in). How much musical diversity could guitar, drums, bass and a vocal come up with? Plenty. From basic loud and fast to rock funky to country-tinged to arpeggiated pop we put together a set of songs with both interesting performances and story-told songwriting.

Spectravox Rox!
I loved this album! It has all kinds of great songs about the best things in life like booze and drugs and love gone wrong. Buy this CD! You won't regret it!
