Speed’s the Name is a thoroughly danceable modern rock troupe from Minneapolis. With a cunning melodic sensibility cut over something a trick more rhythmic, the band does what they can to present something both memorable and meaningful in their songs.

Influences across the board, each of the 5 members brings a very different perspective to the group. This may invite regular tension, but it also pushes each part to be a bit more interesting. And so, guitar chimes oppose raw bass, a punchy “less is more” drum anchors a wailing vocal, while a gas powered 6 string adds a thread of distinction.

In a short time they’ve managed a sound unique to the year and the anticipation is to move forward with relevancy and no intention of ending up where they began.
