Here's what some bloggers have had to say about his music:

"Spencer Tricker has to have one of the most arresting voices I've heard in some time."
-Skatterbrain

"[...] Spencer Tricker divides his time between New York City and Florida, all the while doing his student thing and setting down sincere sounds in bedroom- and basement-style recordings. The pleasant surprise of it is his vocal sound, which even in demos lets a little gut and world-weariness seep through."
-Hello Gina

"Spencer has a great voice and a knack for writing beautiful songs!"
-Hits in the Car

"There's something striking and beautiful in his simplicity, his arrangements, as sparse as they may be at times, accompanies his voice beautifully. "
-Who Needs Radio?

Ohhhh myyyy gooooodddd

Honestly, I think the fidelity of this recording is unsurpassed, even by Nirvana's "In Utero", which I recorded. That album sounded great...it was a band at the breaking point, with Kurt Cobain's shriekingly dissonant guitars, Krist Novoselic's thumping, primeval basslines, and Dave Grohl's absolutely subhuman pounding on the drums. Yeah, those were good times. But this CD honestly sounds better. Spencer, you've gotta let me know who engineered this, I want to hire him/her pronto to be my personal assistant. He or she can start by making me coffee and learning some of my techniques, but in the end, I just want to learn the wonderful recording techniques that were used in the making of this album. The student will become the teacher. Oh and the songs are nice too. SA
