Steady Like Rain marks Spiff's very first forey into the world of recorded music. After 13 years of playing, writing and performing, he finally put some recordings on disc, and the best of the bunch can be found on this album.

The bulk of the technical work was done by Spiff's good friend, Dan O'brien, a talented musician in his own right, as well as a talented recording technician. The CD was recorded in two installments. The first at Dan's place in Baltimore, and the rest in Spiff's living room in Alaska. The CD never would have happened without Dan's help and talent.
