If you blend a healthy obsession with Brian Wilson into a musical stew that includes a life long practice of four part accapella church singing, add a sprinkle of Four Seasons' edge, with just a dash of Glenn Miller, then cook it on low heat for about twenty years and you will get SPIHUNT. FLASHBACK: Time-1978. Place Ron Roy Studios in Burbank, California. Tim Spivey and Steve Hunter are working with producer Bill Silva, the original music man at Candix Records. Silva had left the music business in the early 1960's when the owners of Candix told him to get rid of the Beach Boys and Lou Rawls telling him that they would never amount to anything.
In 1978, Silva saw Tim and Steve as a way to get back into the music business. They were working on a track entitled, "I Know The Feelin'." The song is catchy and fun but it is not coming out the way that Tim and Steve had envisioned. Before the sessions are completed, Silva dies. Tim and Steve decide to build their own studio. FLASHFORWARD: Time-2001. Place-Canada. Steve is listening to some really old cassettes while working on the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie "The Sixth Day." He is listening to an old demo that was never finished. He calls up Tim back in Long Beach, California, and insists that "I Know The Feelin'" be the title cut for a new project. The guys, now known as SPIHUNT, go into their newly remodeled studio and rerecord "I Know The Feelin'," their way. The project is completed eighteen months later.
Fun "feel good" music is back. This is the kind of music that makes you look forward to riding in your car just so you can hear it. It's once again OK to listen to music that makes you want to joyfully sing along. Melody is back. Vocal harmony is cool again. SPIHUNT is the total package. They write all of the songs, sing all of the parts, produce all of the cuts, and mix all of the tracks. They are leading a revival of music that just makes you feel good. We need it. It's about time! Please enjoy "I Know The Feelin'."

Beach Boys sound; new 2003 surf music at it's best :-)

This CD keeps surprising me with the sweet harmonies and the new melodies from their songs. I keep thinking I am hearing a CD of the recovered ' lost songs of the Beach Boys '..... Brings back fond memories of my California summers in the 60's as a kid. It makes me want to be as frisky as I was then and out on the prowl chasing gals again.... Luckily I'm divorced.... AND living in Southern California again AND out on the prowl, being frisky and chasing chicks.... Now all I need is a 50's-60's classic convertible Vette, GTO, a big loud V8.... or I'll settle for a PT Cruiser :-).... This album has a smile plastered on my face and hopefully will put a gal on my arm soon too as the weather warms up and I go cruising at the beach.....
