Album Notes

Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Spill has been compared to the sounds of The Foo Fighters, Travis, Cheap Trick and The Goo Goo Dolls.

In their short time together, the group has played with several national bands including Creed, The Gin Blossoms, Victor Delorenzo, The Rosenbergs, The Beatifics, and The LackLoves.

Spill got its name because "the best and most honest songs just spill out of you," says lead singer/songwriter Jack Rodee.

Their first release was a self-titled 6-song EP penned by Rodee and created with the help of producer Mike Hoffman, whose also worked with bands like Verve Pipe and Milwaukee's own Victor DeLorenzo--drummer for The Violent Femmes.

Their new CD "Breakup Songs for Beginners" was recorded and produced by the band's primary singer/songwriter Rodee, and exhibits the growth and maturity of a band who's on the move. Members Andrew Hintz and Kirk Farber take hands at songwriting as well on this new effort, creating a new and fresh sound for Spill's first full-length release.

While they have received local support -- WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) awarded them the Best Pop Band award-- and local radio play, live on Milwaukee's WLUM, as well as air time on WLZR and WMSE, the band knows the importance of being heard nationally. So they've been busy...

Spill has literally been playing coast to coast... from the largest music festival in the US-Summerfest- in their
home town of Milwaukee, to the west coast for L.A.'s International Pop Overthrow Festival, to the east coast for Baltimore's Baltipop Festival and up to Canada to play Toronto's North By North East Music Festival, where they picked up a Critic's Pick from NOW Magazine.

Says NOW Magazine's Critic's Pick article: "Irresistable hooks and melodies are the trademarks of this power-pop combo."

"We'd like to conquer the world, of course," adds Jack Rodee, "That's our main goal. And so is writing really good songs, playing them really well, and just having fun on stage. Now we just need a vehicle that can get us heard by more people and I'm not talking about a new van to tour in."
