Spin's new album is rockin' its way off the shelves! Recorded live in one evening with their faithful sound guru Eric Kilburn, it's a tasty sampling of Spin's favorite tunes.
Spin came twirling onto the scene about a year and half ago, and now they're the band that everybody is raving about! Based in Boston, but playing great contradance music throughout New England, their high energy rhythmic sound is in the process of rocking dancers everywhere. Spin has a blast pushing things a little beyond the acceptable limits.
Double-bassist Corey DiMario has performed at jazz and folk venues across the eastern sea board, including the Knitting Factory (NY), Ryles Jazz Club (MA), The Full Moon Café (VT), Johnny D's (MA), Symphony Hall (MA), and the Lake Eden Arts Festival (NC). In 1996 he toured Italy with the Greater Boston Youth Symphony. He has recorded with Ralph Alessi, and performed with Russ Barenberg, Jeremiah McLane, Wild Asparagus, McCoy Tyner, Steve Lacy and Lewis Nash. Corey received his undergraduate degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory in 2001.
Born in St. Louis, MO, Michael Kerry is a first rate self taught musician, dancer and dance-caller. He has performed throughout the U.S, Canada and Europe, including a set-dance demonstration at the Willie Clancy Week in Miltown Malbay in 1997. In 1998 and 1999, Michael represented the US in the All-Ireland fleadh in Ballina, Co. Mayo, on mandolin, banjo, and guitar, placing 2nd overall on guitar. In 2001 he released a self-produced solo CD, The Rocky Road (also available through CDBaby), completed a master's degree at Harvard, and witnessed the birth of his first son.
Lissa Schneckenburger grew up in Maine as an active member of the contradance community, where she cut her teeth both as a musician and a dancer at a very young age. She has now played all over the world as a fiddler and vocalist, including appearances in Russia, Holland, Belgium, Canada, and of course, the United States. Lissa has opened for artists such as Alasdair Fraser, Skyedance, and Judy Collins, and has two solo recordings (Different Game, and The Mad Hatter) to her credit. She received a BM in performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2001.

SPIN=A REALLY GOOD TIME

A great CD :) It's not too lengthy, but it has a fun selection of fiddler tunes...I listen to it on repeat, and don't anticipate getting sick of it anytime soon :)
