Album Notes

SpitShine records has released a gem. This is right up there with Primo Sonic Rhythms, in that they both have one unlistenable track nestled between tons of great ones.

I won't count the "Intro" track (for some reason, other reviewers spent a lot of time on this even though it's not a song). Track 2, "Mikey Dee" by the Allstonians is nothing short of amazing. I have got to see them live. This is an instant skinhead reggae classic for me. Westbound train shifts gears next in "I've Got This Feeling", a groovin' reggae love duet. More excellence from out east. The next track, "Dancin' Mood" by Green Island is an automatic fast forward. I have tried so very hard to like this band but can never get past the first few words out of the singer's mouth.

The SoulSteppers, Deal's Gone Bad, and the Israelites scorch on tracks 5,6, and 7 respectively. As usual, since this is a comp I won't spoil it by telling you about every song. You must buy this CD at once or they will take your pork pie away.
